Kalamunda

[Project Photography Coming Soon] Kalamunda is located in the Perth Hills, close to where the Bibbulmun Track begins. The original house, a small brick dwelling on a large block, was retained and lightly reworked with an emphasis on restraint and adaptability. A modest addition extends from the existing house through a connecting bridge, introducing a bedroom, outdoor living space and small studio. Courtyards positioned between old and new create varied conditions for planting, supporting a floristry practice that moves between the studio, garden and home, with much of the material now grown on site. Materials were selected for durability and ease of use. The house continues to evolve over time, shaped more by occupation and gathering than by any fixed idea of completion.
