[Project Photography Coming June 2026] Jolly is a 30m² apartment in East Melbourne reworked to support long-term living within its original footprint. The existing layout remains unchanged, with no walls removed. The intervention focuses on improving amenity through increased storage, integrated laundry facilities and a more generous kitchen configuration without losing the 40's character of the original design. Located along a main road and adjacent to active train and tram lines, the project responds to its context through restraint. A tonal material palette and softened detailing establish a calm interior environment that prioritises privacy and acoustic comfort, offering a quiet counterpoint to the movement beyond.
